A406 - Tourism Operation Assistant

Position: Tourism Operation Assistant

Host company profile and internship information: This company is responsible for all services relevant to group and individual travel into both Ireland and Scotland.

The intern will do his/her internship in the area responsible for all bookings, itineraries and vouchers for all touring groups. He/She could have contact with the overseas clients and Irish suppliers.
This placement require a good eye for details and great enthusiasm.
Please note it is a purely admin internship that we offer (not highly advanced admin) It will give you a good base for using English on a daily basis. During your time with us, you will be involved as much as possible in our every day work. On arrival, you will be assigned to key staff members who will train you thus allowing you complete set tasks. We expect the student to accept certain responsibility for the work they carry out.
The nature of our work is highly administrative with constant use of fax/e mail/telephone/our in-house computer system (Tourplan)/filing etc. We provide a service for our overseas clients based on their requirements and in order for us to be successful, we must reply quickly and accurately.

Location: Edinburgh / Scotland

Date: The internship is available from March 2012 for minimum 4 months. The period of the internship is flexible to adapt to your requirements but will last at least four months.

The responsibilities:
-          To contact  Bed &Breakfast suppliers and make reservations.
-          To provide administrational support.
-          To undertake product research
-          To produce documentation and vouchers for the groups travelling during the season.
-          To administer Tattoo tickets as required.
-          To meet and Greet clients as appropriate.
-          To assist in the Product contracting process when required.
-          The candidate will be mentored throughout the placement by Group Operations Manager depending on the area in which the student is placed. 


Profile:
-         High level of English
-         Very good keyboard skills
-         Be able to be quick and accurate
-         Be flexible, have a team oriented approach to work, including the ability to be self-motivated
-         Be punctual and motivated
-         High level of concentration required at all times


Remuneration:  £250 GBP per month to cover expenses.

A405 - full-time cafe/deli manager’s assistant

Position: full-time cafe/deli manager’s assistant for a café in Dublin

Host company profile: Café in Dublin.

This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in customer service, sales and catering environment, working directly with customers, suppliers and the management team. The successful candidate will also attain skills in communication, sales, customer care, catering and retail management.


Location: Dublin

Date: The internship is immediately available. The period of the internship is flexible to adapt to your requirements.

The responsibilities:
-               Opening cafe and preparing for service
-               Assisting customers at the counter
-               Taking customers orders
-               Operating cash register
-               Making coffee, tea and sandwiches
-               Operating oven, coffee machine, and other café/deli equipment
-               Monitoring food temperatures 
-               Handling stock control and rotation
-               Ensuring all items are stocked and nicely displayed
-               Dealing with suppliers, taking care of deliveries
-               Cleaning and sanitizing work area and equipment
-               Taking out trash
-               Following personal hygiene standards
-               Helping the manager with other duties
Profile:
-         Student must be have a good level in English
-         To be dynamic and organized, and to have professional attitude with customers
-         To be punctual
-         To listen to the customers
-         You must be adaptable to fit within the group
-         To be warm and having a good relationship with colleagues and customers
-         You must show an appetite for work and a keen willingness to learn

Applicants must have good customer service, interpersonal and multitasking skills, pleasant manner, capable of working on own initiative, good command of English language. Successful candidate need to be organised and motivated, show an appetite for work and a keen willingness to learn. Early morning starts at 7am are required. Some experience desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.


Remuneration:  €100.00 per week. Also lunch and hot drinks provided.
