The role has two aspects:

·         The first one is assisting with the accounts and bookkeeping work for a portfolio of companies that the host company has won. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: accounting, processing creditor invoices, employee expenses, assisting with month end close process and dealing with internal customer enquiries.  The person will be guided through a program which will enhance and add to their existing skill set.

·         The second aspect of their role relates to assisting in identifying, qualifying and converting potential leads and delivering on the company’s marketing plan and the whole business development side of the company’s business.  On completion the intern will have attained skills in a wide and varied suite of system applications including CCH, Kashflow and other accounting software.  The person will also have broadened their skill base and accounts knowledge and seen the sales and marketing side of accounting and tax advisory to SMEs. 

Profile:

-          Accounting and bookkeeping knowledge to a standard that they can produce a set of management accounts for review;
-          Strong communication skills so that they can communicate proactively with clients in a polite and timely fashion
-          Attention to detail and capable of working on own initiative
-          Commercial awareness and an inquisitive nature
-          Good client management and timekeeping skills
-          The applicant will be a team player and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products and capable of learning how to use accounting software and understand the information it produces.
