A 534 - Seafreight Export/Import Department – International Logistics



Internships Ireland is a company specializing in locating interesting internships in Ireland for European students who are looking to do internships in Ireland.

Position: Seafreight Export/Import Department – International Logistics

Host company profile: This is a leading company in transport and logistics all over the world. The company has many branches in Ireland.

Location: Cork, Ireland

Date: The internship is available from 8th October for 6 months.

The responsibilities:

  • This will be a requirement throughout the whole internship in these departments;
  • Dealing with Supplier Accounts
  • General Administration
  • Understanding of Bill of Lading, regulatory documents etc.
  • Supporting on documentation scanning
  • Updating information on CIEL operations system
  • Liaising wit shipping lines on transit schedules
  • Working on our accounts system
  • Customer and Warehouse reporting
Chance of progression
After the initial 3mths if the internship is progressing to a more than satisfactory level the manager on discussion with the intern and HR may introduce them to the following activities:

  • Understanding of Customs Clearance
  • Understanding of Port Operations
  • Understanding of Markets and Rates
  • Trade Imbalance

Profile:

-          Business/Marketing or a Logistics background/studies (Interest in Logistics is preferred)
-          Good communication skills
-          Desire to learn and a commitment to working hard and making a genuine contribution.
-          Willingness to undertake all kinds of work.
-          Strong Computer literacy: in Particular with Excel, and good internet skills.
-          Good English
-          Punctuality

Remuneration:  The company will offer an allowance (deemed not to be salary) to help towards travel and expenses throughout your stay in Ireland. The amount offered is €650 per month or €150 per week paid on a monthly basis.
