The responsibilities:
The intern will gain
practical experience in research and digitising sixty year of Irish
photographic images. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the
following: archival methods and practice, The processes involves correlating
information from manuscript materials, old diaries and ledgers, matching that
to required image, scanning and captioning, adding key words, uploading to an
on line website. On completion the intern will have attained skills in
experience of research preservation methods and practices. Experience in
software packages such as Aperture, Photoshop and Photoshelter.
Profile:
A genuine interest in
archives and history. Knowledge of Google Key Word, Analytical, SEO, a good
level of I.T. Skills would be essential. Some Customer service interaction will
be involved requiring a good phone/e-mail communication manner. Attention to
detail, with good written skills, good timekeeper, capable of working on own
initiative within a small team following best practice.
