A760 - Receptionist/Night porter

Position: Receptionist/Night Porter

Location: Dublin

Date: 4 to 6 months

The responsibilities:

-     To maintain the highest standards of service to guests throughout the Reception at all times.
-     Provide and maintain a customer friendly attitude and atmosphere
-     Greet all customers on arrival, offer daily information, City information, maps, provide help, book tours and when possible upsell.
-     Inform of facilities, breakfast, wifi, internet and tours. Be familiar with local attractions and national attractions.
-     Uniform must be worn at all times.
-     Ensure all transactions are posted, credit cards and cash reconciled. Reports and batch done in a timely and professional manner.
-     Any irregularities to be dealt with. Inform managers of discrepancies.
-     Customer ID checked up arrival and entered into system. This applies to all guests.
-     Count til @ €150 and float at beginning of shift.
-     Ensure you have all items needed for ease of work, report any items that may need to be ordered.
-     Check list for each shift to be reviewed as shift proceeded in order to get all work done.
-     Liase with Accommodation Department to ensure that they are kept up to date with stay on, new departures or any other items that might need attention such as group arrival times, group room preparation.
-     Take reservations efficiently and in a positive manner over the phone and via email, informing of cancellation policy and other items such as Code of Conduct if necessary.
-     Screen calls for management by asking, the Name and Company. If they are unknown ask what it might be in reference to before patching the call to office.
-     Any visitors, workers or otherwise to be reported to managers before signing a work sheet.
-     Report Lost property to managers, all items to be left in the Managers Office.
-     Work area and Reception is to be clean, clutter free and stocked with flyers on a continual basis.
-     Comply with Health and Safety, hygiene, fire and security regulations of the hostel.
-     Check Kitchen and Bathrooms on a regular basis and when possible. Keep clean and tidy.
-     Kitchen is to be closed at 23:00. (slight flexibility is allowed, use discretion)
-     Office work in relation to research and sourcing marketing leads.

          NB
-     Remain vigilant for any suspicious guests, check security passes and system to back up client details.
-     Security of our guests is of the utmost importance. Ensure building, doors, windows are secure and if any issues report to Management asap.
-     This description is not intended to be exhaustive and may be added to in the future depending on the needs of the business.

-          Flexible, team oriented approach to work, including the ability to be self-motivated
