Position: Tourism Operation Assistant – French speaker

Host company profile and internship information: This company is responsible for all services relevant to group and individual travel into both Ireland and Scotland.

The intern will do his/her internship in the area responsible for all bookings, itineraries and vouchers for all touring groups. He/She could have contact with the overseas clients and Irish suppliers.
This placement require a good eye for details and great enthusiasm.
Please note it is a purely admin internship that we offer (not highly advanced admin) It will give you a good base for using English on a daily basis. During your time with us, you will be involved as much as possible in our every day work. On arrival, you will be assigned to key staff members who will train you thus allowing you complete set tasks. We expect the student to accept certain responsibility for the work they carry out.
The nature of our work is highly administrative with constant use of fax/e mail/telephone/our in-house computer system (Tourplan)/filing etc. We provide a service for our overseas clients based on their requirements and in order for us to be successful, we must reply quickly and accurately.

Location: Edinburgh / Scotland

Date: The internship is available from April 2012 for minimum 4 months. The period of the internship is flexible to adapt to your requirements but will last at least four months.

The responsibilities:
-          To contact  Bed &Breakfast suppliers and make reservations.
-          To provide administrational support.
-          To undertake product research
-          To produce documentation and vouchers for the groups travelling during the season.
-          To administer Tattoo tickets as required.
-          To meet and Greet clients as appropriate.
-          To assist in the Product contracting process when required.
-          The candidate will be mentored throughout the placement by Group Operations Manager/Customer Care Manager/FIT Manager depending on the area in which the student is placed. 


Profile:
-         High level of English
-         Fluent French
-         Very good keyboard skills
-         Be able to be quick and accurate
-         Be flexible, have a team oriented approach to work, including the ability to be self-motivated
-         Be punctual and motivated
-         High level of concentration required at all times


Remuneration:  £250 GBP per month to cover expenses.

-         Fluent French
-         Very good keyboard skills
-         Be able to be quick and accurate
-         Be flexible, have a team oriented approach to work, including the ability to be self-motivated
-         Be punctual and motivated

Remuneration:  300€/month + a weekend away (the intern will be entitled to one free weekend for two people sharing a twin room with bath on a bed and breakfast basis in a 3* Hotel or Bed and Breakfast subject to availability). This offer is valid only during the internship dates.
